| Great service at this hotel. We had a slight problem with the air conditioner in our room and they quickly put us into another room without any fuss. The general feel around the hotel is that they aim to please and are very welcoming and helpful. If you want to be close to the action however, the location is a bit of a pain, but they do provide shuttle buses everyday to make things a bit easier. Pools are brilliant, entertainment and shops are great. Overall a very good hotel if you want to keep your distance away from all the sights and sounds of Patong. |

| A nice hotel with beautiful rooms.
Unfortunately the beach is not so nice; lots of broken corals which makes it hard do get inte the water during low tide.
You need to take a taxi or longtail boat if you want to go somewhere else. |

| Booked 6 nights at the Merlin Beach resort and moved to the Patong Merlin for the last night to do some shopping. The Merlin Beach Resort is truly wonderful and my sons of 12 and 16 really loved it too.We scheduled out trips to Patong around the times of the free hotel bus service and this was never a problem. We never ate dinner at the hotel but there are a few restaurants there and the menus looked good. There was a buffet on the lawn at the front of the hotel every night with a different theme( 750Thb for adults)There is a little restaurant on the hill to the left of the beach where we ate a couple of times and had great thai dishes for less then $20 for the 4 of us.Breakfast had a selection of food to suit everyone. You can swim at high tide without having reef shoes on( there are no waves) but would need to have reef shoes on if swimming at low tide. While we were there, there were very few Australians or English speaking kids of my childrens age( many Scandanavians and Russians)and there were many families with young children. There are 3 great pools and we stayed in a lovely 1st floor standard room( inter-leading with our kids)overlooking the 3rd pool. It was at the back of the hotel and the entrance of our room overlooked the road at the front of the hotel but it was very quiet once inside our room.We enquired about upgrading to a pool access room and we were told that there were pool access rooms available that cost the same as our standard room but they were very popular so they must be requested. If I had known this I would have stayed in a pool access room as it it so hot and humid most of the time in Thailand. Kids under 12 are not allowed in these rooms and even though we had a 12 year old the hotel would have let us stay in one because they know Aus kids can swim!I would go back to this hotel in the future. My only negative comment about this hotel would be that there was no free internet access and it cost $5==150Thb to go onto the internet for 15 minutes. |

| Excellent stay the staff courteous and friendly. The hotel was very nice and food very good. Nice and quiet just far enough out of Patong. The restaurant on the hill not attached to the hotel gets two thumbs up. Best food. |

| We have just come back from spending 3 nights in a Deluxe Pool Access room at the Merlin Beach Resort. I would recommend it to anyone that is on their honeymoon or without children (the pool access rooms that is) It was an unforgettable experience. The pool access rooms are gorgeous, and it is the best shower I have ever had!!! Hardly anyone else uses the pool there and everyone was super friendly.
Would recommend rooms 4110,4111, 4112 or 4113 if you want lovely sun on your patio in the afternoon. Room service food is fantastic, but pricier than Patong restaurants. Just take some clips to hang up your skirts. Plenty of drawers, wonderful kingsize bed. Everything is wonderful in the Deluxe Pool Access rooms. |

| very nice hotel;we booked a pool access room; it was large and very clean; nice bathroom; very quiet: I think it s the same category as the meridien. It s about 4 km from Patong free schuttle and you can rent motorbikes in front of thre hotel, there are tuk tuk too; splendid pools; the only drawback is the beach : it s private but not good for swimming (lots of big stones) but 500m further there s a lonely beach. nice staff and very good breakfast.I will come back again !! |
